TAM, Varig, Gol  and TRIP's have daily flights to Ilheus, starting from Salvador, Rio de Janeiro, Belo Horizonte and Sao Paulo. You can find several car rental companies at the airport of Ilheus.

The main access roads to Ilhéus is through the BR-101.

North Country

You have Several options, You can use the BR-101 and get in the city of Camamu-Itacaré  ( Road opened in late 2009) and follow the direction of Ilhéus BA 001, Kilometer 31.2, or get in BR 101 to the city of Uruçuca and use the BA-261 to Ilhéus, or take BR-101 to the city of Itabuna and use the BR-415 until Ilhéus then follow 001 towards BA Itacare, kilometer 31.

South Country

You have two options: use the BR-116 to the city of Vitoria da Conquista, divert the route to the BR-415 and follow to Ilheus. You can also take the BR-101 to the city of Itabuna and divert the route to BR-415 and follow to Ilhéus then follow the BA001, Kilometer 31.2 .

From Ilhéus

There are 31.2 kilometers by road Ilheus-Itacare - BA-001 (road schemes);

The city of Ilheus has the Port of Malhado to receive passenger vessels from all over the world.
If you opt for bus travel, Àguia Branca, Sulba, Novo Horizonte, São Geraldo, Central Bahia, Rio Doce, Cidade Sol and Rota are bus companies linking Ilheus and Itacare, the major cities of the state and country.
